Woman Arrested After Disturbance Outside Ridgely Post Office
Caroline County, MD - On Saturday, August 15, 2026, a Caroline County Sheriff's Office deputy responded to the Ridgely Post Office at 502 Maryland Avenue in Ridgely, Maryland, for a report of an unconscious person on a bench outside the building. The person was later identified as Audrey Sophia Gross, an 18 year old woman from Centreville, Maryland.
The deputy tried several times to wake Gross but was not successful. Caroline County Emergency Medical Services was called to the scene.
Once EMS arrived, Gross became alert but stayed disoriented. She was evaluated on scene and declined further medical treatment.
While still at the scene, Gross became agitated during a conversation with her mother and started yelling loudly. The noise drew nearby residents outside to see what was happening.
The deputy asked Gross several times to lower her voice and leave the area. She refused to comply.
Gross was then placed under arrest for failure to obey a lawful order, disorderly conduct, and intoxicated endangerment. During the arrest, she kicked her mother, leading to an additional charge of second degree assault.
Gross was later seen by a Caroline County District Court Commissioner and released on her own personal recognizance.
