Woman Arrested in Salisbury for Driving Without a License
Salisbury, MD - On November 1, 2026, a deputy with the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office was on patrol near North Salisbury Boulevard and East Naylor Mill Road in Salisbury, MD. The deputy noticed a blue Ford heading north with an equipment violation. That traffic stop ended with the driver under arrest for driving without a license, something she had been stopped for many times before.
The deputy pulled the Ford over and identified the driver as Beverly Ann Ennis. While speaking with the deputy, Ennis said she didn't have a valid Maryland driver's license.
The deputy ran a license check to confirm it. The check showed Ennis only had a valid Maryland ID card.
An ID card can be used to prove who you are, but it doesn't give you permission to drive. In Maryland, you need a valid driver's license to legally get behind the wheel.
Ennis also told the deputy she had been pulled over and ticketed a number of times in the past for driving without a license. Her driving record backed that up. It showed many earlier traffic stops for the same thing.
Because of her history of repeat violations, the deputy placed Ennis under arrest. She was charged with driving without a required license and authorization.
Ennis was then taken to the Wicomico County Detention Center.
The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said it will keep a strong focus on traffic enforcement. The agency also said it will hold people accountable when they break Maryland traffic laws again and again.
