State of DE - On October 4, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Delaware State Police responded to the area outside a sports bar in the 3800 block of North Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE, for a report of shots fired. A Wilmington woman now faces felony charges in connection with the incident.

Tiffany Morales, 37, of Wilmington, DE, was arrested and charged with several firearm-related offenses. Police say she fired multiple shots at a victim outside the bar early Sunday morning.

When troopers arrived, they found spent shell casings near the building. The victims told troopers that Morales was the person who fired the shots.

Troopers found Morales and took her into custody without incident. The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit then took over the case.

According to police, it all started with a dropped purse. Morales had dropped her purse while she was in a physical fight with another person, who police described as unrelated.

The victims picked up the purse and gave it back to Morales. Police say Morales then accused them of stealing it.

Investigators say Morales went to her car and got a handgun. She then pointed the gun at one of the victims and fired multiple shots.

No one was hurt. No property damage was reported either.

During the investigation, detectives found evidence of the crime inside Morales' vehicle. Police did not say what that evidence was.

Morales was taken to a local hospital for injuries that were not related to the shooting. Police say those injuries were not life-threatening.

Morales is charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Menacing, and two counts of Reckless Endangering First Degree. All of the charges are felonies.

She was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court. She was then committed to the Department of Correction on a $23,000 cash bond.
