15 YEAR OLD FROM CAMBRIDGE ARRESTED IN THE SUNDAY NIGHT MURDER OF ALYSON ELIEN

Cambridge, MD - On June 8, 2025, members of the Cambridge Police Department responded to a fatal shooting in the 900 block of Camelia Street in Cambridge, MD.


Upon arrival, Officers found Alyson Elien, a 23-year-old male from Seaford, Delaware, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Despite the efforts of the Cambridge Police Officers, Dorchester County EMS, and medical personnel at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Cambridge, Elien was pronounced dead as a result of the shooting.


Following an extensive investigation, the Cambridge Police Department identified a suspect: a 15-year-old male named Jakai Wilson from Cambridge, Maryland.


Detectives obtained an arrest warrant from the Dorchester County District Court, charging Wilson as an adult in the murder of Elien. The firearm involved in the incident was a Beretta 9mm, and was confirmed to have been stolen from a vehicle, as reported to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office on June 5, 2025.


On June 10, 2025, Officers from the Cambridge Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Feather Drive at Stone Boundary in Cambridge, Maryland. They located the suspect, Jakai Wilson, in the back seat of a vehicle and took him into custody without incident.


He was processed by the Cambridge Police Department before being transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections, where he is being held without bond.


Wilson was charged with the following:

  • Conspiracy Murder 1st Degree (4 counts)
  • Murder 2nd Degree
  • Conspiracy Murder 2nd Degree (4 counts)
  • Assault 1st Degree
  • Conspiracy Assault 1st Degree (4 counts)
  • Assault 2nd Degree
  • Conspiracy Assault 2nd Degree (4 counts)
  • Loaded Handgun on Person
  • Firearm Use Felony Violent Crime
  • Possession Firearm Minor
  • Armed Robbery
  • Conspiracy Armed Robbery
  • Regulated Firearm Stolen
  • Alter Physical Evidence Criminal Proceeding
