CAMBRIDGE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A FATAL SHOOTING FROM SUNDAY NIGHT

Cambridge, MD - On June 8, 2025, a tragic shooting took place in the 900 block of Camelia Street in Cambridge, Maryland. Upon arrival, officers from the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) found a 23-year-old male victim, Alyson Elien, from Seaford, Delaware, outside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head.


Despite the efforts of the officers and the prompt response of Dorchester County EMS, Mr. Elien was pronounced dead at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Cambridge.


Through a thorough investigation, CPD officers and detectives discovered a handgun and other crucial evidence at the scene. By utilizing multiple camera systems, they identified a suspect and are in the process of applying for criminal charges.


Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect and identify any potential accomplices involved in this incident.


Concerning footage from the crime scene has revealed that numerous bystanders failed to offer assistance to the victim. Disturbingly, several individuals were seen taking items from Mr. Elien's vehicle and from his person while he lay unattended.


This incident is still under active investigation, and the Cambridge Police Department urges the community to come forward with any information that could help bring justice to the perpetrators.
