Seaford, DE - On December 21, 2023, Branden D. Abbott, 29 of Seaford, Delaware, was arrested following a robbery of the M&T Bank branch located at Sussex Hwy and Herring Run Rd in Seaford, Delaware. 

On December 21, 2023 at 9.20 am officers of the Seaford Police Department were dispatched to the M&T Bank for the robbery report. When the initial officer arrived on scene, a witness advised that the suspect was wearing camouflage clothing and was currently walking behind the Seaford Village Shopping Center. 

This information was passed on to other responding officers who observed a subject on Jet Ave and contacted him. A search of the area produced clothing items matching that of the robbery suspect, discarded in a dumpster. 

After further investigation, the subject was identified as Branden D. Abbott and identified as the suspect in the robbery. 

Evidence further identified Abbott as the suspect who committed a similar bank robbery at the same M&T Bank branch on December 13, 2023. 

Abbott was transported to the Seaford Police Department where he was charged with 2 counts of 1^st Degree Robbery, 2 counts of Wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and 1 count of Tampering with evidence. 

Abbott was presented to Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Department of Corrections on $111,000 cash bail.
