Delaware - On a Tuesday evening in Newark, Delaware, a reported kidnapping set off an Amber Alert for a 3-year-old girl named Nola Dinkins. Initially, police responded to a call on the 500 block of Gender Road, where the child's mother, 31-year-old Darrian Randle, claimed that an armed unknown man had taken her daughter.

Randle claimed that she had pulled over after Nola became upset and she was attempting to comfort her when an unknown white male armed with a handgun approached the vehicle and took Nola at gunpoint. She claimed that the suspect then fled in a dark-colored SUV driven by a white female.

The incident prompted immediate action by the New Castle County Division of Police and the FBI. An extensive overnight investigation ensued, only to later reveal that Darrian Randle's report was fabricated.

Subsequently, the Amber Alert was canceled, and the case is now being reclassified as a homicide investigation, under the Maryland State Police's jurisdiction.

While being questioned at the New Castle County Police Headquarters, Darrian was charged with felony falsely reporting an incident. Following her arraignment at the Justice of the Peace Court 11, she was committed to the Baylor Women's Correctional Institution with a cash bail set at $1,000,000.

This case remains active, with continued collaboration between the New Castle County Division of Police and the Maryland State Police.
