Dorchester County State's Attorney Amanda Leonard Does Not Seek Re-election

Dorchester County, MD - Amanda Leonard, the current State's Attorney for Dorchester County, will not seek re-election. Leonard was appointed to the position following the appointment of former State's Attorney Bill Jones, who filled the then vacant judges position in the Circuit Court for Dorchester County, Maryland.

Leonard did not file prior to the deadline for State's Attorney in the upcoming election. Victoria Lane Brohawn of East New Market, Maryland initially filed to run for the position of States Attorney for Dorchester County.

Records from the Maryland AIS system indicate that Brohawn was admitted to practice law in Maryland only in December 2024.

However, according to the Maryland Elections page, Brohawn has since withdrawn her name from the race.

This development leaves no candidates on the ballot for State's Attorney in Dorchester County, Maryland.
