Easton Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges
Easton, MD - Detectives from the Easton Police Department have arrested a local man following an investigation into illegal digital material. Charles M. Wooters, 34, of Easton, Maryland, was taken into custody on January 22, 2026. He faces charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Access and View Child Pornography.
The investigation began in December 2025 after authorities received a cyber tip regarding a user in Easton possessing child pornography. Detectives launched a thorough inquiry to identify the suspect.
These officers are members of the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a unit dedicated to investigating individuals involved in the possession, manufacturing, and distribution of such material.
Authorities identified Wooters as the user in question. On January 22, officers executed a search and seizure warrant at his residence. Wooters was subsequently arrested on the charges and transferred to the custody of the Talbot County Detention Center.
The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force includes various police agencies from across the state. Its primary mission is protecting children from computer-facilitated sexual exploitation.
The unit works cooperatively with law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to provide resources to combat these crimes. Additionally, the Task Force conducts community awareness campaigns to help prevent the spread of these crimes through education.
