LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ARE INVESTIGATING A FRIDAY SHOOTING THAT TOOK THE LIFE OF A YOUNG CRISFIELD MAN

Somerset County, MD - The Maryland State Police are actively investigating the tragic death of a 20-year-old man, who has been identified as Evan Neal of Crisfield, Maryland. Neal was discovered with a gunshot wound on Friday evening and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.


The Crisfield Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on Friday, April 25, 2025 at around 4:43 p.m. The incident took place outside an apartment in the 200-block of the Somers Cove neighborhood.


Upon arrival, officers found Neal's body and secured the area. The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Neal's death.


They are receiving support from crime scene technicians from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division, who have processed the scene and collected evidence. The Crisfield Police Department is also assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Update 4/26/2025 at 10:28 AM - Investigators are asking for the public's help in finding 28-year-old Tyren Lee Ivey, who is from the Crisfield area. An arrest warrant has been issued for Ivey in connection with the shooting death of Neal on April 25, 2025. He is charged with first-degree murder and other related offenses and is considered armed and dangerous.
