Man Found Guilty in Bay VanGuard Bank Robbery

Talbot County, MD - Deondre Tammarce Williams has been found guilty of 20 counts related to the robbery of Bay VanGuard Bank in Easton, Maryland. The verdict was reached on January 30, 2026, following a three-day trial presided over by the Honorable Philip Cronan.

Williams is now scheduled for sentencing on February 9, 2026.

The conviction stems from an incident on June 2, 2025. Evidence presented at trial established that Williams, along with two accomplices, conspired to rob the bank located at 501 Idlewild Avenue in Easton, Maryland.

The group successfully stole $12,000 from a teller during the heist.

Law enforcement officials credit the public for playing a significant role in solving the crime.

Numerous tips and information received from community members were instrumental in identifying the suspects, ultimately leading to the arrest of Williams and his co-conspirators.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy State's Attorney Joyce E. Jones and Senior Assistant State's Attorney Jennifer M. Wilson, assisted by Paralegal Leigh Ann Adams.

State's Attorney Joseph I. Coale acknowledged the extensive work of several agencies, including the Easton Police Department, Talbot County Sheriff's Office, Caroline County Sheriff's Office, and the Maryland State Police.
