Second Arrest Made in Cambridge Homicide Case

Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department (CPD) has announced a second arrest in connection to the June 8, 2025, homicide that took place on Camelia Street in Cambridge, Maryland.
On July 6, 2025, at approximately 12:05 p.m., officers apprehended 18-year-old Nisiah Jeremiah Fletcher of Cambridge, Maryland, in the 600 block of Greenwood Avenue. Fletcher was taken to the Cambridge Police Department for processing and his initial court appearance before being transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections. He is being held without bond.
Fletcher has been charged with the following offenses:
- First-Degree Murder
- Conspiracy to Commit First-Degree Murder
- Second-Degree Murder
- First-Degree Assault
- Second-Degree Assault
- Possession of a Loaded Handgun on Person
- Handgun on Person
- Firearm Use in a Felony Violent Crime
- Possession of a Firearm as a Minor
- Armed Robbery
- Robbery
- Possession of a Stolen Regulated Firearm
- Altering Physical Evidence in a Criminal Proceeding
The original incident occurred on June 8, 2025, at approximately 8:33 p.m., when CPD officers responded to a reported shooting in the 900 block of Camelia Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 23-year-old male victim, identified as Alyson Elien of Seaford, Delaware, with a gunshot wound to his head. Despite life-saving efforts by officers, Dorchester County EMS, and medical personnel at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Cambridge, Elien was pronounced deceased.
The investigation, conducted by Cambridge Police Department detectives and officers, identified a 15-year-old suspect, also of Cambridge, Maryland. On June 10, 2025, at approximately 7:17 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Feather Drive and Stone Boundary, where the 15-year old was found in the back seat of a vehicle.
The firearm recovered at the scene was identified as a Beretta 9mm, reported stolen to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office on June 5, 2025. It had been taken from a vehicle.
